Working with a PT can help you resolve pain, leaking, irregular bowel movements, pain with sex but it can do so much more. Working with the right PT can help you get your life back so you can do the things you really enjoy.
Yes, we want your pain and leaking to resolve but we want you to do more than that!
What if you could return to playing soccer?
What if you could jump on the trampoline with your kids?
What if you could have some time with your spouse and actually be present mentally because you don’t have anything to fear?
Those things are possible and we want to help you get there!!
Here’s our proven process to help you thrive in life.
Step 1: Figure out What’s Going On
In our first session, we dive into your history and symptoms. We’ll ask you lots of questions about what makes your symptoms worse and better, and when they started. Your PT will also do some testing of your strength, mobility, posture and movements. They’ll put all this information together to figure out what is causing your pain. Sometimes this can take a couple sessions but by the end of the first day we’ll have a good idea and start working toward relief.
Step 2: Resolve Symptoms
In the next sessions, we will work together to get your symptoms resolved. This often required hands-on treatments and exercises. When symptoms are gone consistently then we get to move to step 3.
Step 3: Build Strength and mobility
In this phase, we progress the exercises from step 2 and add more strengthening and activities. We would reintroduce weight lifting, running, sitting for longer periods of time, biking, sexual activity or anything else you’ve been avoiding because of the pain. This phase is all about getting you back to a solid place to live without your symptoms returning.
Step 4: Try those activities you thought were impossible
This is the really fun phase where things you thought were impossible start becoming possible again.
I had a patient who went back to playing tennis after years of not playing because of the pain she dealt with. When we started working together, walking down the block was painful and frustrating for her. Gardening knocked her out for days. Tennis wasn’t even on her radar but she’s back at it now and thriving!!
